26.8.2026

This guide explains how to create and manage dynamic groups.

General Information

You can create two types of groups in the environment: manual groups and dynamic groups. You can use groups to assign courses to specific sets of users.
Groups can be used, for example, for teams or organisational units. A dynamic group works automatically based on the rules defined for it. You can build dynamic groups using:

  • User data fields
  • Completed courses

Note

  • By default, users are added to a group when they meet the defined conditions and removed from the group when they no longer meet those conditions.
  • Always check that the rule logic produces the desired outcome.
  • Date-type user profile fields can be used, for example, to create groups based on the length of employment.
  • When a user is removed from a dynamic group, they are also removed from courses assigned to that group.
  • If a user has been assigned as a Course Administrator, they are not removed from the course automatically.
